An 18-year-old Merced man is dead and a suspect is on the loose after a fatal shooting in Merced that happened in the early morning on Sunday, according to the Merced Police Department.

A Pierce County Sheriff Deputy shot and killed a man during a pursuit in Parkland Sunday morning.

Investigators said at least one of the offenders pulled out a gun and opened fire on the vehicle.
