We finally made it! 📌 Burger Station 📍 Winfield, Kansas There are a few burger joints across Kansas that have the mystique and reputation of tiny shacks and smelly ambiance. And Burger Station, in Winfield, Kansas, is on of them. This tiny spot has been slinging burgers since the 1950s, and it’s proof that sometimes the simplest things are still the best. My usual order — plain burger with everything on it, which at Burger Station means grilled onions, pickles, and mustard. Nothing fancy, just

This mission continues in 2026! Just a reminder that this is my Top 10 based on the burgers I’ve had. In Kansas. So far…still plenty of places to go! I have discovered my preference is the smash burger, so if you’re going to comment “Where’s the meat?” just go down to your local bar and grill, they probably have something between a quarter pound to a half pound burger for you. And also, still no cheese with everything on it. Join our Substack to get access to our Burger Map and more! Link is in

Every now and then, you find a small-town spot that completely surprises you — and Luigi’s Italian Restaurant in Winfield, Kansas did exactly that. 📌 Luigi's Italian Restaurant of Winfield 📍 Winfield, Kansas I ordered their white pizza with pepperoni and jalapeños. The crust does flop but still has crisp, the flavor had depth, and the balance was spot on. This one scored a 9.2 out of 10. If you love discovering hidden gems across Kansas, this place proves you don’t have to head to a big city t

There’s a certain kind of quiet charm you find in downtown Kansas and Winfield’s Main Street checks all the boxes! The storefronts, the small-town pace, the way the afternoon light hits the windows just right — it all feels like a reminder of why these downtowns matter. They’re the heartbeat of Kansas. Part 2 of my Downtowns of Kansas series takes us to Winfield, a town that captures that timeless Midwest character — where every corner has a story to tell. If you’re planning a Kansas road trip,

Better than Cozy’s?! 📌 @powershamburgers 📍 Fort Wayne, Indiana If you love old-school burger joints like Cozy Inn in Salina, Kansas or Town Topic in Kansas City, Missouri… you need to add Powers Hamburgers in Fort Wayne, Indiana to your list. Tiny building. Flat-top grill that’s been seasoned by decades of burgers. And that unmistakable smell of grilled onions. My order? A single with grilled onions, ketchup, and mustard — simple and perfect. The verdict? 8.7 out of 10. This is the Midwest sli
