Following on from Erik Korsten's Nathusius pipistrelle roost posted earlier this week, I went out and walked three kilometres of the King's Sedgemoor Drain and found this common pipistrelle roosting in a subsidence-crack on a crack willow. There are still 6 km to explore, as well as many lake areas so hopefully I'll get lucky! | Bat Tree Habitat Key

Aren't bats just the cutest?! This is a little Rusty bat (Pipistrellus rusticus) happily munching away on a meal worm. It is one of the smallest of the 76 bat species known to occur in southern Africa, with females and males weighing on average 4.4 and 4.0 grams, respectively. #lovebats🦇 #friendsoffreewildlife #freewildlife #nomnomnom | Friends of Free Wildlife

🦇 After a bath, it’s grooming time! 🛁 This little common pipistrelle is carefully licking and cleaning its wing membranes - because hygiene is essential for bats. Their fur and wings must stay in perfect condition to keep them healthy and able to fly. Bats spend a lot of time grooming every day: licking their fur and wing membranes, using their toes to comb through the fur and stretching their wings. Keeping everything neat and shiny. ✨ If they can’t groom themselves properly, they may become

Maid of Bats | Bat Rehabilitation & Conservation on Instagram: "Look how small. 🥺🦇 In the photo: two pipistrelle bats - the Common pipistrelle (Pipistrellus pipistrellus) and Nathusius’ pipistrelle (Pipistrellus nathusii). And yes, both can be really common in many places. But “common” doesn’t mean boring – it means they’re living right around the corner. 🦇❤️🦇 The Common pipistrelle is one of the smallest bat species around here: tiny, ridiculously agile, and often sharing our neighborhoods.

Probabilmente era un pipistrello nano (Pipistrellus pipistrellus), la specie più comune in Italia. Pesa pochi grammi ma in una notte può mangiare centinaia di insetti. Io li adoro i pipistrelli! voi cosa avreste fatto trovandovelo davanti? #bats #animal #faunaselvatica #natura
